FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team picked up its third-straight win on Friday, topping Fairfield 1-0 at Lessing Field. Junior Morgan Circe tallied the game-winning goal for the Hawks, while senior goalkeeper Christine Neal made seven saves in the shutout victory.

After a fairly even first half, the Hawks took advantage of a Fairfield foul with just over 10 minutes left in the half. Off a free kick from the top of the box, Circe delivered the decisive goal on a shot to the lower right corner at 77:06.

The Stags appeared to score the equalizer with just under 10 minutes to play, however the goal was waved off on a delayed offsides call against Fairfield.

Saint Joseph's limited Fairfield to just one shot over the remaining time as the Hawks improved to 3-0-1 on the season.

As a team, SJU was outshot 14-12, but finished with a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

In goal, Neal made seven saves to earn her second shutout of the season and up her season record to 3-0-1.

The Hawks remain on the road as they travel to Hartford on Sunday. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
