Split Women's Harriers Run 8th at ND, 7th at La Salle
Oct. 2, 2004 PHILADELPHIA - Head Coach split his women's cross country squad with each contingent turning in moderate results racing at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday and the La Salle Invitational on Saturday. SJU finished 8th of 19 teams at ND and 7th of 14 squads at La Salle. SJU sent seven runners to South Bend on Friday for the 49th Annual Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, at the Burke Memorial Golf Course. SJU finished eighth in the highly compeitive field. Senior Colleen Flanagan (18:20) led the Hawk contingent with a fifth place finish in the field of 132. SJU added two other runners in the top 50 as Suzie McHenry (18:52) placed 22nd and Renee Spangler (19:18) finished 48th. Also scoring for SJU were Erin O'Donnell who placed 80th and Rebecca Powell was 95th. Ann Reagan finished 103rd, Maddie Bell 105th and Christine Egan 124th. On Saturday running at the Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park at the La Salle Invitational. Marci DeLorenzo was the top Hawk finisher placing 15th in a time of 19:02. Mary Crossin ran second for SJU in a time of 20:09 to finish 25th. Jackie Twomey was 36th (20:31), Thuy Nguyen was 57th (21:14) and Katie LoSecco was 70th (21:41). Christine Egan finished 84th (22:13).
