PHILADELPHIA -The Saint Joseph's University Track and Cross Country programs will host their annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, October 20. The members of the 2012 Hall of Fame Class include Gina Bundy-Cavorsi '01 (Ambler, Pa.), James Scott '02 (Conshohocken, Pa.), Andria Smythe '06 (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) and Andrew Thomas '06 (Yardley, Pa.). An Academic All-American (Second Team - 2001) and the Atlantic 10 Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Year, Bundy was named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2001 Atlantic 10 Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships. Individually, she was a five-time A-10 champion, twice winning the indoor triple jump (1999, 2001) and capturing the heptathlon, triple jump and high jump outdoor (2001). She earned All-East honors three times in the triple jump, twice indoor (1999, 2000), once outdoor (1999) and still holds school records in the heptathlon as well as the indoor and outdoor shot put. After graduating, she was a member of the U.S. Women's National Bobsled Team from 2001-03. She received her medical degree from Temple University in 2009. Among the most decorated sprinters in SJU history, Scott holds SJU indoor records in the 55m, 60y and 200m. The Most Outstanding Performer at the 2001 A-10 Outdoor Track Championships, he also captured five individual A-10 titles including winning the 100m and 200m (2001) outdoor and the 55m (2001) and 200m (2001, 2002) indoor. He was a three-time indoor IC4A scorer in the 60m (2001) and 200m (2000, 2001) dash and scored once in the outdoor 200m (2000). He graduated with school records in the outdoor 100m and 200m, and still holds school records in the indoor 55m and 200m. A two-time Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection, Smythe won four individual A-10 titles, including the indoor 55m (2004), outdoor 100m (2004) and both the indoor (2006) and outdoor (2004) long jump. She still holds three SJU records including the indoor 55m and 60m and the outdoor 100m mark, in addition to being a member of SJU's record-holding 4x200m relay team. She was recognized as All-East three times, twice in the indoor 6m (2003, 2004) and once in the outdoor 100m (2004)
In the long sprints, Thomas holds three individual SJU records, including marks in the indoor and outdoor 400m and indoor 500m. He was also a member of the Hawks record-setting 4x400 indoor and outdoor relays. A two-time Atlantic 10 Champion in the indoor 500m (2003, 2006), he won outdoor titles at 400m (2006) and 800m (2004) and garnered Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors outdoor in 2006. Thomas received All-East distinction eight times, highlighted by a second place finish in the indoor 400m in 2005. In addition to the Hall of Fame Inductions, SJU will present longtime team bus driver Fred Tullos with the Frank Manion Award for outstanding contributions to the SJU track and field teams and the Carr/Bolger Awards to Kevin McDonnell '12 and Kelsey Rose '12, as the outstanding senior athletes. The Track Hall of Fame induction will be held in the Haub Executive Center located on the fifth floor of SJU's McShain Residence Center.
