Manwaring Leads Hawks At NCAA Regionals
LOCK HAVEN, PA (11/15/03) -- Senior Amy Manwaring led Saint Joseph's to a 14th place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Bucknell on Saturday. The senior captain finished 42nd out of 176 runners by covering the 6k course in a time of 21:58.
Junior Colleen Flanagan, an all-conference performer at the 2003 A-10 Championships, was second for SJU with a 48th place finish (22:14). Senior Karen Weber (92nd, 23:02) and freshman Suzie McHenry (102nd, 23:10) placed third and fourth, respectively for the Hawks. Junior Jackie Twomey (123rd, 23:41) rounded out the Crimson and Gray's top five. Freshman Meryl Nash (137th, 23:59) and junior Erin O'Donnell (138th, 23:59) finished sixth and seventh for SJU. Georgetown won the event with 56 points and along with Princeton, will advance to the NCAA Championships on November 24. The Hoyas' Treniere Clement won the race in a time of 20:02. Saint Joseph's will conclude its 2003 campaign at next Saturday's ECAC Championships.
