Flanagan Paces Hawk Women At Atlantic 10 Championships

PHILADELPHIA (11/01/03)--Junior Colleen Flanagan paced Saint Joseph's with a tenth place finish (18:52.3) to lead the Hawks to a fifth place showing at Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championships at Belmont Plateau. For her performance, Flanagan earns all-conference recognition for the first time in her career.

Senior Amy Manwaring just missed out on all-A-10 honors with her 11th place finish (19:04.9). She was followed by classmate Karen Weber, who placed 26th overall and Erin O'Donnell, a 37th place finisher (19:58.4).

Freshman Suzie McHenry rounded out the Hawk top five with her 38th place showing (19:58.8). Classmate Meryl Nash (48th, 20:13.5) and junior Meghan Gallagher (62nd, 20:42.6) finished sixth and seventh for SJU.

Richmond snapped a two-year run by La Salle for the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Explorers' Shelia Klick won the individual race in 18:00.2

The Hawks continue their cross country season on November 15 with the NCAA District II Championships.
