SJU WOMEN HARRIERS FINISH 15TH AT NOTRE DAME
SOUTH BEND, IND (10/03/03) -- Junior Colleen Flanagan finished 32nd overall to help lead the Hawk women's cross country team to a 15th place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon. One of the nation's top events year after year, the 2003 edition was won by the host Fightin Irish.
Flanagan finished the race in 18:14, the leading Hawk by over 30 seconds. Senior captain Amy Manwaring was the next Hawk to finish (64th, 18:49), followed by classmate Karen Weber (106th, 19:24). Freshmen Suzie McHenry (112th, 19:27) and Renee Spangler (119th, 19:36) rounded out the Hawk top five. Junior Mary Crossin (123rd, 19:41) and classmate Erin O'Donnell (126th, 19:54) finished sixth and seventh for SJU. Notre Dame won the event with 73 points, followed by Wake Forest, Penn State, Duke, and Vanderbilt. Notre Dame's Molly Huddle won the individual event in 17:12.
