SJU WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT LEOPARD INVITATIONAL
EASTON, PA (10/19/02) - Saint Joseph's placed third at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette College on Saturday in their final tune-up for the Atlantic 10 Championships on November 2. Freshman Ann Regan led the way for the Hawks, traversing the 5K course in 21:08.81 to place fifth.
Sophomore Colleen Flanagan ran another solid race, placing eighth with a time of 21:13.64. Junior Amy Manwaring (21:52, 22nd), junior Karen Weber (22:19, 35th), and junior Mary Crossin (22:31.17, 37th) rounded out the top five for Coach Kevin Quinn's squad.
Finishing the top seven were sophomore Kelly Victory (22:43, 41st) and senior Sarah Conway (23:22, 56th).
Columbia took the team championships with 33 points, followed by Princeton (71) and SJU (107). Lafayette's Rian Landers won the race with a time of 20:56.
SJU returns to action on November 2 at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
