KUTZTOWN, PA (08/31/02) - The Saint Joseph's University women's cross country team started their season on the right foot by running away with the Maroon and Gold Invitational at Kutztown University this afternoon. The Hawks finished with 22 points, 22 ahead of second place Kutztown, in the 6K race. Freshman Ann Regan, in her first collegiate race, finished second overall with a time of 23:52 as the Crimson and Grey took the second through fifth spots in the race. Juniors Amy Manwaring (23:53) and Karen Weber (24:07) finished third and fourth, respectively. Sophomore Colleen Flanagan rounded out the top five with a 24:11. Senior Sarah Conway placed eighth (24:55), while sophomore Mary Crossin (11th, 25:21) and freshman Thuy Nguyen (16th, 25:58) rounded out the top seven.
