PHILADELPHIA - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2012 preseason regional rankings for NCAA Division I teams. Rankings are determined by returning team strength and current-season results, and both the Saint Joseph's men's and women's cross country teams are ranked, seventh and 10th, respectively, in the Mid-Atlantic Region. For the men, Georgetown has been selected to finish first in the Mid-Atlantic standings while Villanova, Princeton, Penn State, and Navy round out the top five, respectively. Fellow Philadelphia team La Salle takes the sixth spot right above #7 Saint Joseph's. Georgetown also takes first in the women's category, followed by Princeton, Villanova, West Virginia, and La Salle. Penn State, Navy, Bucknell, and Duquesne take the six-nine spots as Saint Joseph's stands in 10th.
