Women's Cross Country Concludes 2008 at ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y.-- The SJU women's cross country squad finished its 2008 season at the ECAC Championships in New York on Sunday. Kelsey Rose led the Hawks as the top finisher in 64th position in a time of 19:31. After Rose the next four Hawks came in over 10 places, 68th to 78th. Christina Morelli (68th/19:35), Jessica Di Cicco (73rd/19:44), Kathleen Casey (76th/19:53) and Amy Rhein (78th/19:54) completed the five-kilometer course in under 20 minutes. Laura Faller (20:09) and Katie Barrett (20:13) were separated by just two places in 83rd and 85th, respectively, while Julie Stensland (89th) crossed the line in 20:26. Samantha Peters (20:47) completed the Hawk squad in 93rd place. SJU ran to 11th place overall in the competition, the last of the 2008 campaign. The Hawks will kick off the 2008-09 indoor track season at Lafayette in December.
