Women's Cross Country Concludes Season at Mid-Atlantic Regionals

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's cross country squad placed 13th out of 28 teams at the 2006 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Saturday morning in Lock Haven, PA. Sophomore Andrea Florida was the top finisher for SJU, turning in a time of 21:57.3 to place 47th in the field of 195. The meet, won by Princeton, concludes the 2006 season for the Hawks.

Florida paced the Hawks for the third time this season. She was followed by three seniors - captain Suzie McHenry, Renee Spangler and Rebecca Powell. McHenry finished in 70th place with a time of 22:16.3. Spangler turned in a 22:36.8, good for 83rd. Powell's time of 23:29.4 earned her 137th place.

Also in the top seven for SJU was sophomore Juli Stensland. Stensland placed 143rd, running the 6K in 23:42.4. Classmate Amy Rhein took home 146th-place honors with a time of 23:49.2. Rounding out the Hawk entry was senior Maddie Bell; Bell's time of 24:02.7 placed her 153rd.
