Women's Cross Country Places Eighth at Atlantic 10 Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--The Saint Joseph's women's cross country squad ran to an eighth place finish at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday. Sophomore Jessica Di Cicco was the first finisher for the Hawks in 41st place.

Di Cicco completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:15.0, while senior Andrea Florida (19:16.2) was just over a second behind in 45th.

Freshman Kathleen Casey (49th/19:20.7), Christina Morelli (53rd/19:22.9), Amy Rhein (59th/19:32.5) and Aimee Chegwidden (60th/19:35.4) were the third through sixth runners for the Hawks.

Senior Juli Stensland (19:48.8) rounded out the varsity seven for SJU in 72nd place.

Richmond took home the team title with 48 points, edging hosts Charlotte by 19 points.

The Hawks return to action when they travel to Princeton, N.J. for the 2008 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on November 15.
