Florida Captures Third Consecutive All-Atlantic 10 Honor; Women Harriers Place Eighth at A-10s

The Saint Joseph's women's cross country posted an eight place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship while junior Andrea Florida grabbed All-Conference honors for the third straight year. The race, hosted by SJU at muddy Belmont Plateau, saw La Salle win the women's title with 52 points over Richmond (82 points).

Florida led the Hawks with her twelfth place finish, completing the 5,000-meter course in 19:14. Florida, who was never any lower than 20th during the entire race, continued to surge towards the end of the race, moving up three spots in the last half of the race.

Freshman Aimee Chegwidden was the second Hawk across the line in 30th place, finishing in a time of 20:04. Another youngster, sophomore Anna Cushing (20:21) finished the race in 39th place.

Junior Juli Stensland finished 48th place season in a time of 20:31, while fellow classmate Amy Rhein (20:51) was 20 seconds back in 60th.

Rounding out the Hawk line up was freshmen Christina Morelli (72nd/21:05), Laura Faller (77th/21:25) and Jessica Di Cicco (105th/21:48), as well as sophomore Caitlin Reusche (119th/22:37) and junior Katie Pencek (127th/23:30).

The Saint Joseph's harriers will compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals in two weeks at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA on November 10.
