Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at Princeton

Princeton, N.J - The Saint Joseph's women's cross country team saw mixed results in its fourth place finish at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks finished with 127 points as Amy Rhein's 21st place showing was best amongst all harriers.

Rhein (23:05.9) was four seconds ahead of Kelsey Rose (25th/23:09.9) on the six-kilometer course while Andrea Florida (23:14.5) was next in 26th.

Kathleen Casey (23:20.0) and Jessica Di Cicco (23:21.4) completed the scoring in 32nd and 33rd, respectively. The Hawks put together an impressive first-to-fifth gap of just 16 seconds.

Aimee Chegwidden (39th/23:32.7) and Christina Morelli (49th/23:44.9) rounded out the varsity seven as 15 Saint Joseph's athletes took part in Saturday's race in all.

The West Windsor Fields course will also host the 2008 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional race in November. SJU will next toe the line on November 1 in Charlotte, N.C. for the opportunity to claim the Atlantic 10 Championship.
