Women's Cross Country Places Seventh at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Led by junior Emma Slattery's eighth-place finish, the women's cross country team placed seventh at the Princeton Invitational Championship 6K on Saturday afternoon. 25 teams totaling 172 runners competed in the race.
With a time of 21:54*, Slattery paced the Hawks for the third time this season with a 5:53 mile and crushed her personal-best time in the 6K by seven seconds.
Junior Elizabeth Barrett finished second on the squad in her third consecutive race, clocking in at 21:58*. Barrett rounded out the overall top-10 for the Hawks with a 10th-place finish. Her final time marks a new personal-best for Barrett as she slices her former 6K time by 19 seconds and improves on her 2011 Princeton Invitational time by 2:23.
Junior Erin James rounded out the Hawks top-five with an overall time of 23:28, good for a 95th-place overall finish. With the time, James improved on her 2011 Princeton time by 1:39.

In the Open 6K, sophomore Taylor Oskowiak's 20th-place finish paced Saint Joseph's in a race that saw 53 runners from nine teams. The Hawks finished eighth.
Oskowiak clocked in at 25:02, while junior Darcy O'Connor finished in 30th place with a time of 25:33.
The freshman trio of Emily Chaundy (36th place), Kathryn Cols (38th place), and Georgiana Honrath (41st place) rounded out the Hawks top-five. Chaundy set a new personal-best in her second collegiate 6K race with a time of 25:51*, improving on her previous personal-best by 1:19. Cols clocked in at 26:04 while Honrath, in her collegiate debut, ran the 6K course in 26:14*.

The Hawks will stay in Philadelphia to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships on Friday, October 27. The meet will be held on the course of the Belmont Plateau at West Fairmount Park, while start time is to be determined.
