Women's Cross Country Places Eighth at Iona Meet of Champions

Iona Meet of Champions Results

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's cross country team placed eighth out of 18 at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday morning in New Rochelle, NY. The Hawks were paced by senior captain Suzie McHenry and her 29th-place finish in the field of 176. McHenry finished the 6K race in 22:29.1.

Sophomore Andrea Florida was the second Hawk across the line, turning in a time of 22:38.3 to earn 34th place. Senior Renee Spangler clocked a 23:34.8 for 63rd place, and sophomore Amy Rhein took home 65th place with a time of 23:35.7. Also scoring for the Hawks were seniors Rebecca Powell and Maddie Bell and freshman Anna Cushing. The trio ran times of 24:27.9 (96th), 24:35.2 (104th), and 25:09.5 (121st), respectively.

The next meet for Saint Joseph's is on Saturday, October 14th, as the Hawks will travel to Easton, PA for the Lafayette Invitational.
