Women's Cross Country Places Eighth at Lock Haven Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's University women's cross country squad placed eighth out of 11 teams at the Lock Haven Invitational this weekend. The Hawks placed 12 runners in the field of 161, led by senior captain Suzie McHenry. Team honors went to La Salle in the 6K race. McHenry finished the race in 22:07.53, earning her 14th place in her first meet of the year. Sophomore Andrea Florida placed 28th with a time of 22:32.24. Seniors Renee Spangler and Rebecca Powell turned in times of 23:42.99 (66th) and 23:59.25 (75th), respectively. Sophomore Amy Rhein ran a 24:05.89 to place 78th. Senior Maddie Bell finished in 80th place with a time of 24:11.77. Senior Erin Kelly, sophomores Katie Pencek and Juli Stensland, and freshmen Anna Cushing, Caitlin Reusche, and Samantha Seitter also ran for the Hawks. Reusche turned in a 25:03.51 for 108th place. Stensland was right behind her in 109th with a 25:10.37. Cushing's time of 26:33.59 earned her 132nd place. Seitter, Kelly, and Pencek rounded out the SJU entry with times of 26:47.04 (135th), 27:12.36 (140th), and 27:17.14 (142nd), respectively.
The next meet for the cross country Hawks will be on September 30th, when they travel to the Iona Invitational. Saint Joseph's Results |
