Florida and Company Lead Women's Cross Country to Second Place in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Andrea Florida's third place finish led the Saint Joseph's women's cross country squad to second place at the Bojangles Invitational hosted by UNC-Charlotte on Saturday. Freshmen Kelsey Rose and Katie Casey finished just seconds apart in seventh and eighth, respectively. Florida (19:46.1) was SJU's top finisher while Rose (20:06.1) and Casey (20:08.3) were the second and third Hawks across the line. Senior Amy Rhein (13th) and sophomore Aimee Chegwidden (14th) completed the five-kilometer course in times of 20:19.3 and 20:23.9, respectively. Nine other Hawks accompanied the first five to North Carolina with Christina Morrelli (20th/20:23.9), Jessica Di Cicco (22nd/20:41.6), Elizabeth Lambright (24th/20:50.2), and Caitlin Reusche (26th/20:58.3) put together the most notable performances. The meet was a test run for Charlotte, who will be hosting the Atlantic 10 Championship in November. The Hawks will return to action in two weeks when they travel to Williamsburg, Virginia and the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by William & Mary. RESULTS
