Women's Cross Country Competes at Spiked Shoe Invitational

State College, Pa. - The women's cross country team finished ninth at the Spiked Shoe Invitational on Saturday, September 8. The Hawks competed against nine other teams at the 6K event that saw 120 participants. Junior Emma Slattery led the Hawks with a 33rd place finish with an overall time of 22:43, paced by a 6:18 average mile.

Classmate Elizabeth Barrett finished second for Saint Joseph's for the second time this season with an overall place of 39th (22:53). Freshman Lauren Hehir (24:06) and senior Erin Giampietro (24:14) both placed in the top five for SJU again this weekend with finishes of 90th and 97th, respectively.

Freshman Sara Radzwilka rounded out the top five for the Hawks, coming in at an overall time of 24:43, good for 111th place.

The Hawks will compete at the Delaware Invitational next Saturday (September 15) in Newark, Del. Meet time is to be determined.
