Women's Cross Country Kicks Off 2006 Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's University women's cross country team took part in the Haverford College Time-Trial Meet this afternoon in Haverford, PA. Six Hawks were entered in the field of 44 runners. Sophomore Juli Stensland was the top finisher for Saint Joseph's, and three freshmen runners made their collegiate debuts in the meet.

Stensland paced the Hawk women with a time of 20:03.26, taking seventh place. Senior Erin Kelly placed 17th with a time of 20:46.89. Sophomore Katie Pencek turned in a time of 22:10.97, good for 29th place.

A trio of freshmen made their Hawk Hill debuts at Haverford. Caitlin Reusche finished in 20:53.30, taking home 20th place. Right behind Reusche in 21st position was Anna Cushing with a time of 20:58.32. Samantha Seitter recorded a time of 21:11.43 and finished in 23rd place.

The Saint Joseph's women's cross country squad next competes in the Lock Haven Invitational at Lock Haven on Saturday, September 16. The meet is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
