Smythe and Nguyen Race At NCAA Regional Meet ::

GAINESVILLE, FLA (5/29/04) - The Saint Joseph's women's track team sent a pair of runners, sophomores Andria Smythe and Thuy Nguyen, to the 2004 NCAA East Region Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29 at the Percy Beard Track on the campus of the University of Florida.

Smythe placed seventh in her qualifying heat, 24th overall, in the 100m Dash with a time of 12.18. Nguyen, meanwhile finished sixth in her heat, 24th overall, for the 800m with a time of 2:14.23.

Both runners qualified for the Regional meet by winning their respective events at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Nearly 200 track and field programs were represented at the East Region meet.
