NGUYEN MEETS ECAC STANDARDS IN TWO EVENTS AT PSU OPEN
STATE COLLEGE, PA (02/01/03) - Freshman Thuy Nguyen qualified for the ECAC Championships in two events to lead the Saint Joseph's showing at the Penn State National Open this weekend. Individually, Nguyen ran a time of 1:16.51 in the 500 to earn sixth place and a ECAC spot. She was also a member of the 4x800 relay team that reached the qualifying standards with a time of 9:08.16. Other members of the relay team were sophomores Kelly Victory and Mary Crossin, and senior Sarah Conway.
Freshman Andria Smythe reached the ECAC standards yet again in the 60m with a time of 7.68 and also competed in the triple jump with a mark of 36'11 1/2". Junior Sarah Click high jumped 5'2 1/4" as well.
SJU will return this weekend at the Navy Invitational.
