BLAUSTEIN LEADS SJU AT TUPPENY TWILIGHT MEET

VILLANOVA, PA (05/13/02) - Sophomore Erin Blaustein won the long jump and placed fifth in the 400 intermediate hurdles at the Jim Tuppeny Twilight Meet on Monday evening to lead the Saint Joseph's women's track team in its final tune-up before this weekend's ECAC Championships. Blaustein's winning leap was 15-feet, 10-inches while her time of 1:07.13 was just ahead of her teammate, freshman Krista Ramirez (1:08.57), who placed sixth. Other Hawks competing at the meet were sophomore Mary Crossin, who placed seventh at 1500 meters in a time of 4:59.89 and junior Sarah Conway, who ran eighth at 800 meters (2:16.89). The team now travels to Princeton for this weekend's ECAC Championships, being held on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. That is the final meet of the season for SJU.
