HAWKS COMPETE AT RUTGERS

NEW BRUNSWICK , NJ (01/05/02) - The Saint Joseph's University women's track team competed at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, January 5. Sophomore Amy Manwaring led the way for the Hawks, winning the 3000 meter with a time of 10:.53.6 while finishing third in the mile in a time of 5:23.2. Senior Mary Korfmacher fared well in both the 400 and 200-meter runs with times of 59.1 and 26.5 respectively, good for second place finishes. Freshman standout Colleen Flanaghan won the 1000 with a time of 3:09.6 while junior Maisha Tyler won the long jump with 17'8 3/4. Sophomore Sarah Click posted a high jump score of 5'3 to notch a win. Other highlights included a first place finish in the 4x800 by Sarah Bright, Sarah Conway, Denise Fergus and Flanaghan with a time of 9:59.3.   The Hawks will compete in the U.S.T.C.A. at Penn State Saturday, January 12.
