HAWKS PLACE 4TH AT ONESTY INVITATIONAL

CHARLOTTE, VA- The St. Joseph's women's track team placed 4th at the Onesty Invitational, held at the University of Virginia last Saturday. The Hawks defeated Howard, Richmond, James Madison, Rider, Monmouth, Lafayette and VMI while Virginia took the overall title. Rutgers and Georgetown round out the top three. Senior Christine Kane and Gina Bundy took home gold with Kane winning the 1500 meter run (4:29.58) and Bundy taking the high jump (5'6). Kane also registered a second place finish in the 3000 meter run (10:07.41) while Bundy posted an Atlantic 10 best of 38'9 3/4" in a fourth place finish in the triple jump. Other highlights include a second place finish by Gabby Quezada in the 800 meter run (2:12.59) while freshman Sarah Click claimed bronze in the high jump (5'4). Freshman Emily Horton set a new school record in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.29 seconds, good for ninth place. The Hawks next compete on Saturday, April 21 at the Lafayette Invitational.
