HAWKS COMPETE AT PENN STATE INVITATIONAL

STATE COLLEGE, PA- The Saint Joseph's women's track team traveled to Happy Valley over the weekend to take part in the Penn State Invitational. Senior Christine Kane was the workhorse for the Hawks, placing fourth in the 3000 and sixth in the mile. Her times of 9:40.33 in the 3000 and 4:53.82 in the mile are the fastest in the Atlantic 10 this season. Sophomore Maisha Tyler had a solid performance, placing eighth in the long jump with her longest jump of the season (18'01 1/2") while senior Bernadette Speer placed tied for tenth in the high jump with a leap of 5'05". Junior Brooke Gilliford set a new school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.83 seconds, claiming 19th place while junior Mary Korfmacher placed 33rd in the 400 meter dash (59.65) The Hawks next compete on Saturday and Sunday, February 3-4, when they travel to Delaware.
