Rhein Earns Spot on Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference Squad

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Saint Joseph's women's track & field athlete Amy Rhein was honored by being named to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday in voting conducted among the Conference's sports information directors. Rhein (Kendall Park, N.J/East Brunswick) earned her first Atlantic 10 selection with the All-Academic accolade. The junior finished 11th in the 1,500m run in a personal best time of 4:48.08 at the Atlantic 10 Championships at UMass on May 4, winning her heat. A special education major, Rhein posted a 3.848 cumulative grade point average for her time at Saint Joseph's. For the track season Rhein was tops amongst Hawk harriers in the 1,500m and the 3,000m (10:38.17) and held the fourth best time in the 800m (2:25.76). Additionally, at the Athletic Awards Ceremony, Rhein was presented with the Raymond Vasquez Award for maintaining Jesuit ideals in the SJU cross country program.
