PHILADELPHIA - Both the 4x100 and 4x800 relays met ECAC qualifying standards to highlight an impressive weekend of competition for the Saint Joseph's women's track team over the weekand at the 2005 Penn Relays at Franklin Field.

SJU opened up the weekend with a strong showing by its 4x100 team of Andria Smythe, Jordan Teuber, Valerie Ramirez and Julie Lentz. The Hawks roared out of the gate and easily won their heat with a time of 48.23, meeting ECAC standards along the way.

On Saturday, the Crimson and Gray fielded a 4x800 relay that also faired well. That contingent of Mary Crossin, Kelly Victory, Rebecca Powell and Thuy Nguyen placed third in its heat, but also met ECAC qualifications with atime of 9:90.64.

Individually, Suzie McHenry competed in the 5,000m on Thursday's distance night. She placed 28th in a time of 17:35.01.
