Flanagan Captures 3,000, 4x100 Wins at Lafayette Invitational

EASTON, PA - Senior Colleen Flanagan won the 3,000m and the 4x100 posted an ECAC qualifying time to lead the Saint Joseph's women's track team at the Lafayette Invitational. The event had been postponed from Saturday due to inclement weather.

Flanagan captured the 3,000 by nearly two seconds with a time of 10:10.16. The 4x100 of Andria Smythe, Jordan Teuber, Valerie Ramirez and Julie Lentz placed first overall and met ECAC qualifying standards with a time of 47.54, the fastest time in the Atlantic 10 this year.

SJU also had several other sthletes turn in place winning performances. Smythe finished second in the 200m with a time of 26.00 and was fourth in the 100m in 12.41. Teuber folled her across the line in the 100m, placing fifth in a time of 12.65. Individually, Lentz placed third in the 400m, running 58.53, and Thuy Nguyen (58.93) was eighth in the same event.

Erin O'Donnell (11:44.34) finished fourth in the 3,000m Steeplechase, Rebecca Powell (2:19.95) was fifth in the 800m and Lynn Puzzo (116-11) was fifth in the javelin.

The 4x400 relay of Lentz, Colleen Ladden, Ramirez and Nguyen finished third in a time of 3:57.48.
