Hawk Women Fare Well at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, NC - Freshman Jordan Teuber and sophomore Julie Lentz led a strong effort by the Saint Joseph's women's track team on the Wallace Wade Stadium oval at the prestigious Duke Invitational.

Lentz and classmate Valerie Ramirez were the Hawks top individual finishers each placing seventh, respectively. Lentz finished seventh in the 400m in a time of 57.69. Amanda Guthridge also competed in the eventh placing 21st (59.25). Ramirez, meanwhile was seventh in the 100m hurdles in a time of 16.70 and 13th in the 400m hurdles (1:09.12).

Teuber delivered strong performances in the sprints. She finished 48th in the 200m in the second fastest time in the A-10 this year (26.03). She also ran 55th in the 100M, turning in the A-10's third-fastest time (13.19). Junior Andria Smythe was 44th in the 100m, but turned in the A-10's second quickest time (12.95).

SJU also posted solid results in the middle distance. Junior Thuy Nguyen was 26th in the Seeded 800M final in a time of 2:14.996. Rebeca Powell (10th, 2:19.27) and Mary Crossin (17th, 2:21.17) each ran well in the 800.

Colleen Flanagan placed ninth in the 1500m in a time of 4:45.63 and then delivered a 19th place effort in the 3000m (10:14.54).

In the distance events Erin O'Donnell was 16th in the Steeplechase (11:42.91) and Suzie McHenry was 32nd in the 5,000M.

The Hawk relays ran well as the 4x800 placed seventh in a time 9:25.16, the 4x100 was 15th (49.33) and the 4x400 was 22nd (4:01.88).
