Hawks Come Out Strong at Duke Invitational

April 7-8, 2006

Durham, NC - Saint Joseph's had a strong showing in both the seeded and development races at the Duke Invitational held Friday April 7th and Saturday April 8th. Freshman Lauren Slack was among the standouts in the busy two-day event.

Slack ran the 100m hurdle preliminaries in 15.62, jumped 5'3" in the high jump, 16'8.75" in the long jump and ran the opening leg of the 4x100 for the Hawks. Joining Slack in the 4x100 was Jordan Teuber, Lauren Wallace and Julie Lentz for a time of 48.80. Teuber also ran in the 200m finishing in a time of 25.96. Wallace and Lentz also had good days. The pair competed in the Development 400m in which Lentz finished 2nd with 57.31 and Wallace had a time of 59.62.

Lynn Puzzo placed 11th in the Javelin throw with a distance of 111'8" and Suzie McHenry finished the 5,000m in 18:00.90. There was no team scoring for the two-day event.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, April 15th at 9:00 am at the Lou Onesty Invitational.
