Women's Track Finishes Second at the Rider-Lafayette 6 Way

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Saint Joseph's finished the day with 66.16 points, made up of four 1st place finishes and 13 finishes in the top three. The Hawks scored in 12 out of the 15 events they entered at Saturday's Rider-Lafayette 6 Way.

Notching the first place finishes were Julie Lentz, Suzie McHenry, and Lauren Slack along with the 4x100 team. Slack finished 1st in the long jump with 17'8" as well as finishing 4th in the 100m hurdles (15.93) and tying for 5th with teammate Natalie Miller in the high jump (5'3").

Lentz earned her win in the 400m dash with a time of 58.03. She also placed 8th in the 200m (26.40) and anchored the winning 4x100 team for the Hawks. Lentz was joined by Kristin Gold, Jordan Teuber and Lauren Wallace in the 4x100, which they finished in 49.04.

McHenry led the pack for the Hawks in two events. First, in the 1,500m, McHenry placed 2nd with 4:48.47 followed by teammates Andria Florida in 3rd (4:54.56), Renee Spangler in 4th (4:57.65), and Rebecca Powell in 5th (4:58.34). McHenry then went on to take 1st in the 3,000m with a time of 10:30.28. Florida finished 2nd with 10:39.36 followed by Adriene Beltz in 3rd (10:51.95), Maddie Bell in 5th (11:08.67) and Ann Regan in 9th (11:37.97).

The freshmen performers continue to improve and, as can be seen from Saturday's results, even more great finishes can be expected from them as the spring season goes on.
 

 

The Hawks return to action Friday April 7th and Saturday April 8th at the Duke Invitational.
