Women's Track Struggles at A-10s, Finishes 11th

KINGSTON, R.I. --The Saint Joseph's women's track squad struggled on Saturday, finishing 11th overall in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships at Rhode Island. Nohjay Nimpson, Allison Smith and the 4x400m Relay squads had the best efforts, finishing sixth in their respective events. Nimpson was sixth after leaping 11.40m (37-5) in the triple jump. Smith was tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5-3. The 4x400m squad of Kierstin Quinn, Skylar Rea, Nicole McMullen, Lauren Wenzel also earned sixth, completing the event in a time of 9:27.38. Other scorers on the day were Anna Casey and Kristin Andrews in the 800m, who were seventh and eight respectively, as well as the seventh-place 4x800m squad of Kelsey Rose, Kathleen Casey, Casey, and Andrews. SJU will compete next week at the NYU Fastrack event in their final tuneup prior to ECACS in March. 800m Run Finals
