Modest Results for Hawk Women at Armory

NEW YORK - Racing against a highly-competetive field, the Saint Joseph's women's track team delivered moderate results at the Armory Collegiate Invitational. Top finishes were turned in by junior Andria Smythe and the Hawk relay teams.

SJU's 4x800 relay of Mary Crossin, Erin Kelly, Marci DeLorenzo and Rebecca Powell placed third overall in a time of 9:28.94. Crossin and Powell also teamed with Amanda Guthridge and Suzie McHenry in the Distance Medley, finishing seventh overall (12:08.89).

Individually, Smythe finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 18-4 1/4. Crossin and McHenry also placed 10th in the 1000 and 3000, respectively. Crossin circled the oval in 3:00.02, while McHenry ran 10:23.58.

In other events, Guthridge ran 59.55 in the 400, and Jackie Twomey ran 5:23.76 in the mile. Valerie Ramirez posted a 9.70 in the 60m hurdles and 27.09 in the 200.
