Middle Distance Crew Paces Women's Track at Penn State National

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Saint Joseph’s women’s track team participated in the highly competitive Penn State National Invitational this weekend with its top performance coming from a freshman in the 1,000m run.

Newcomer Kelsey Rose ran the 1,000m in a time of 3:01.16.  The performance earned her fourth place.

Senior Andrea Florida raced to ninth place in the Mile, completing the eight circuits in a time of 5:10.43.  

Two other top-10 showings came from freshman Anna Casey (2:15.71) in the 800m run and senior Natalie Miller (5-4½) in the high jump.  Both garnered 10th place in their respective events and both were season bests.

SJU split its squad between the PSU National Meet and the Thomson Invitational at Delaware this weekend.  Next week, Saint Joseph’s travels north to New England to compete in the Giegengack Invitational at Yale.
