Smythe, Nguyen Lead Women's Contingent at PSU National

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - Junior Andria Smythe competed in three different events, as the Saint Joseph's women's track team sent several of its top runners to compete at the prestigious Penn State National Invitational.

Smythe ran the 60M Dash in a time of 7.73 to place 15tgh overall. She also competed in the long jump and triple jump. She finished eleventh in the triple with a jump of 37-09.50 and was twelfth in the long jump with a leap of 17-07.00.

Individually the team's top finisher was junior Thuy Nguyen who placed sixth in the 800M in a time of 2:13.46. Also competing in the event was Kelly Victory, who placed 19th, in a time of 2:19.54.

Sophomore Suzie McHenry placed 12th in the 5000M in a time of 17:44.97, while senior Mary Crossin finished 15th in the 1000M (3:02.95).

SJU also entered a team in teh 4x400 Relay. That group which included Crossin, Nguyen and Victory, along with sophomore Amanda Guthridge, finished 18th with a time of 4:01.21.
