Women's Track Win Two Events at Penn State Relays

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team kicked off its 2009 portion of the season with two win, one second-place finish and a third-place showing at the Penn State Relays this weekend. Andrea Florida captured the Mile Run, while the 4x400m Relay secured a team win for the only Hawk victories on Saturday. Florida, a senior out of Reading, Pa., won the Mile in a time of 5:12.93. The senior also doubled in the 1,000 meters, finishing seventh, in a time of 3:06.87. The 4x400m Relay team of Caitlin McGrath, Kristin Andrews, Kierstin Quinn, and Nicole McMullen picked up the gold in the event with a time of 3:57.51. The Sprint Medley Relay captured silver in the event in a time of 4:13.84. The team consisted of Ashley Williams, McMullen, McGrath, and Casey. The only other top-three showing of the day was by jumper Natalie Miller in the high jump. She finished third with a 5-5 jump.
