Claire Minnoe Signs NLI to Join SJU's Women's Tennis Team
Nov. 30, 2012
PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's women's tennis coach Ian Crookenden announced today that Claire Minnoe (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) has signed a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period to play for the Saint Joseph's beginning in the 2013-14 season.
Claiming the New York Section III singles title five times, Minnoe capped her high school career with a 126-19 record. A five-time Scholar-Athlete, she qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship three times, including a third place finish as a junior, the highest finish ever for a player from Section III. As a senior, Minnoe went 12-0 in qualifying matches and placed fourth at the state tournament. The two-time team captain currently ranks 12th in New York and 193rd nationally among high school recruits according to the Tennis Recruiting Network.
"This really is nice to see all my hard work pay off," Minnoe told The Citizen. "It's always been my dream to play Division I tennis, and it's finally here."
"Before I even met the coach I fell in love with the campus," Minnoe said. "Then I met the coach and team, and I definitely knew it was where I wanted to be."
The Hawks begin the spring portion of their schedule on January 19 at Penn.
