Women's Tennis Inks Local Standout Devi Jadeja to National Letter of Intent

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's tennis coach Ian Crookenden announced today that Devi Jadeja (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) has signed a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period to play for the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team beginning in the 2010-11 season.

The ninth-rated recruit in Pennsylvania and 265th -rated high school player in the nation according to TennisRecruiting.net, Jadeja went 18-3 at No. 1 singles for Lower Merion High School and placed second in the Central League's singles tournament this fall. Advancing to the PIAA State tournament for the past two years, Jadeja captured the Central League and District 1 AAA doubles title as a sophomore. A four-year letterwinner with the Aces, she has helped her squad post a 21-5 record over the past two seasons.

The Hawks, who opened the Saint Joseph's Tennis Complex at the Maguire Campus this past fall, begin the spring portion of their schedule on January 30 at Penn.
