FORDHAM DEFEATS HAWK WOMEN'S NETTERS, 5-2
PHILADELPHIA (9/12/03) - Despite hanging tough in several matches, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team was handed its second setback of the fall dropping a 5-2 decision to Fordham on the Finnesey Courts. Sophomore
PHILADELPHIA (9/12/03) - Despite hanging tough in several matches, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team was handed its second setback of the fall dropping a 5-2 decision to Fordham on the Finnesey Courts. Sophomore Nicole Morrison and newcomer Erika Guers picked up the victories for SJU.
Morrison defeated the Rams Elizabeth Murray at #3 singles (6-4, 6-4) to pick up the Hawks' first point and Guers downed Fordham's Candice Lee at six (6-2, 7-6).
Senior Katie Bobish took on FU's Doina Souder at #2 singles in what was the day's most compelling match with Souder earning a 7-5, 7-6 win.
SJU takes to the court again on Sunday, hosting Bucknell at noon.
