HOY NAMED TO ATLANTIC 10 WOMEN'S TENNIS ACADEMIC TEAM

PHILADELPHIA (04/30/03) - Senior Jance Hoy has been named to the 2003 Atlantic 10 women's tennis academic team, in voting conducted by the conference's sports information directors. This two-time team captain missed her entire senior season due to back surgery, but was honored due to her outstanding work both in and out of the classroom. The career wins leader at second singles on Hawk Hill, Hoy moved to the first singles spot last season. She is a member of the SJU Athletic Director's and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls along with the team academic award winner for three straight years. Hoy also serves as the president of the English Honor Society and is a member of the Theological Honor Society. Hoy, an English major, sports a GPA of 3.99. The Hawks finished their season 8-8 overall and 11th at the Atlantic 10 Championships. She joins Xavier's Stephanie Bauer and Lauren Clay, Massachusetts Stephanie Price, Dayton's Rebecca Stanchin and George Washington's Tracy Wei on the academic all-conference team.
