BOBISH EARNS NOVACARE ATHLETE OF THE MONTH AFTER PERFECT OCTOBER
PHILADELPHIA (11/05/02) – Junior Katie Bobishof the Saint Joseph's University women's tennis team was honored as the University's NovaCare Athlete of the Month after posting a perfect 6-0 record in October.
Playing fourth singles, Bobish ended her fall season with a record of 10-2, including a six-match winning streak to finish the season. The streak began on October 1, with a 7-5, 6-4 win versus Villanova,. It also included dominating 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2 performances against Bryant and Drexel, respectively.
Bobish has a career record of 33-7 and ranks fourth all-time on Hawk Hill in career wins. Her .825 career winning percentage places her second all-time. She also stands as the career leader in wins at fifth and sixth singles.
Saint Joseph's finished their season with a 6-5 overall record. SJU men's soccer goalie Kevin Dougher was named the inaugural NovaCare Athlete of the Month in September. Hawk Athletes of the Week for the month of October include Billy Stewart (golf, 10/7), Women's Varsity Quad/Men's Heavyweight Eight (rowing, 10/14), Collegiate Eight (rowing, 10/21), and Kelly Butler (field hockey, 10/28.)
