SJU DROPS TO BUCKNELL 4-3

PHILADELPHIA, PA (10/6/01) - Sophomore Katie Bobish posted her sixth straight singles win of the season, but it wasn't enough as Saint Joseph's fell to Bucknell 4-3, Saturday afternoon on Finnesey courts. Bobish won at the number five slot, defeating Bison's opponent Kristen Pugno, 6-2, 6-1. Other winners for the Hawks included #3 player, sophomore Pilar Glodzik at in a tight three-set match 5-7, 6-2, 6-0, and freshman Michelle Savage 6-1, 6-3 at #6. In doubles action, the tandem of Lydia Thomas and Bobish won their sixth straight match at the #2 spot defeating Bucknell's Sam Berthed and Chrissy Hill 8-2. SJU, which travels to Rider on Thursday, fell to 1-4 on the season.
