SJU FALLS AT VILLANOVA, 6-1

VILLANOVA, PA (10/01/01) - Sophomore Katie Bobish posted her fourth singles win of the season, but that was it for Saint Joseph's as it fell to host Villanova, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon. Bobish won at the number five slot, defeating her opponent in a close three-set match (6-3, 1-6, 7-6), but the Wildcats dominated at the other singles positions to post the win. In doubles action the tandem of Lydia Thomas and Bobish won their fifth straight match at the #2 spot defeating Ashley Young and Jessie Rybacki 8-5. SJU, which travels to Rider on Thursday, fell to 1-4 on the season.
