Williamsburg, VA (11/4/00) - Senior captain Allison Popen participated in the ITA East Region Singles Championships over the weekend while teammates Jance Hoy and Pilar Glodzik paired up to compete in the Doubles Championships. The tournament, hosted by William & Mary, saw 128 singles players and 64 doubles to compete. After defeating Holy Cross's Amy Crump, 6-4, 6-2, in the first round, Popen had to face off with second seeded Andrea Ondrisova of Virginia Commonwealth. Popen struggled with Ondrisova, falling in two sets, 6-0, 6-0. The loss was only her third of the season. Popen and Glodzik didn't make it past the first round, dropping only their fourth match of the season, a hard-fought 8-6 decision, to a pair from Manhattan.
