Hawks Demolish Drexel in Final Fall Match, 8-1

Philadelphia, PA (10/25/00) - The St. Joseph's University women's tennis team concluded the most successful fall season in recent memory on Wednesday with a 8-1 demolition of Drexel on the Finnessey Courts. The victory snapped a two-game slide for the Crimson and Gray. SJU swept through the singles matches losing just one set en route to the win. Freshman Pilar Glodzik and sophomore Jill Simodjeka were particularly effective against the Dragons. Glodzik notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #4 singles, while Simodjeka rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at #5. The lone blemish in the match came at #1 doubles, where Allison Popen and Katie Bobish were defeated 8-4.
