Hawks' Kedzierski Competes at Women's Wilson/ITA Atlantic Regional

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Saint Joseph's senior Jhennifer Kedzierski posted a solid effort in the singles qualifying competition at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Regional Thursday afternoon at Virginia Tech. Competing as an individual, Kedzierski opened competition with a straight-set victory. Facing Longwood's, Zsofia Jakab, Kedzierski won the opening match 6-4, and breezed to a 6-2 victory in the second match to earn her first victory at the ITAs. With the victory, Kedzierski advanced to face the eight-seeded Nadia Solomon-Burgess from Liberty. The senior posted a hard-fought effort, but fell 6-3, 6-0. Despite the loss, Kedzierski will continue to compete at the regional event as she will team with freshman Casey Robinson in the doubles draw on Friday at 9 a.m. The duo will face the third-seeded team of Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra from Virginia. Robinson opens play in singles action Friday as well as she faces Virginia Tech's holly Johnson at 9 a.m.
