Hawks Cap Fall with 5-2 Win at Manhattan
Oct. 20, 2006 PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team capped the fall portion of its season with a 5-2 victory at Manhattan. With the win, the Hawks improved to 10-5 on the season. Saint Joseph's earned the first point of the match as it claimed two of the three doubles points. The Hawks' duo of junior Stephania Velazquez and freshman Jen Kedzierski earned an 8-6 win over Jennifer Fowler and Morgan MacTaggart at No. 1 doubles, while SJU won the point as sophomore Krysta Contino and senior Lauren Kuhmerker posted an 8-0 victory over Patrice Reiley and Malory Gguyen at No. 3 doubles. Individually, Saint Joseph's took four of six matches. Kedzierski earned a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles over Lindsay Keeler, improving to 14-0 on the year in singles play. Junior Erika Guers earned a 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 win versus Casey Conklin at No. 3 singles, while Contino posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Reiley at No. 5 singles. Senior Marisa Donelson capped the match for SJU with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Nguyen at No. 6 singles. Singles
