Hawks Drop Women's Tennis Match to Towson, 4-3

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team dropped its match with Towson, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon at Finnesey Courts. The Hawks, who dropped the first point of the match in doubles action, earned wins at No. 1, No.2 and No. 5 singles. Senior Stephania Velazquez topped Towson's best player, Evelyn Izaguirre, 6-0, 6-1, while classmate Gina DiGiacomo earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Cassandra Ng. Saint Joseph's senior Lauren Kuhmerker posted the third Hawk point with a 7-5, 5-7, 12-10 win. Saint Joseph's, which is 2-6 on the year with the loss, hosts La Salle Friday at 3:30 p.m. Towson 4, Saint Joseph's 3 Doubles
