Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Team Falls to Fordham, 4-1
Oct. 4, 2006 PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to Fordham, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon at Finnesey Courts. The Rams claimed the first point of the match winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Fordham's Dominique Ligouri and Ellenoir Featherston downed Saint Joseph's junior Stephania Velazquez and freshman Jen Kedzierski 8-1, while the Rams' Doina Sandor and Lisa Vulin topped the Hawks' juniors Gina DiGiacomo and Erika Guers, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles. In individual play, Saint Joseph's earned its only point of the match as Kedzierski topped Ellenoir Featherston 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 7-4 on the season, while Fordham improves to 1-1 on the year with the win. Saint Joseph's returns to action Thursday, October 5 when it hosts Rider at 3 p.m. Singles Double
